Thank you to everyone who recently helped us celebrate our 50th Anniversary concert! We have had such lovely comments about our singing and we were so pleased with how many members of the audience joined us for a roof raising performance of Parry's 'I was glad' with our friend John Longstaff adding a special extra element accompanying us on the organ.
A highlight of the evening was the world premier performance of our specially commissioned piece by Anthony Gray - 'When Music Sounds'.
We were so pleased to be able to welcome two former Musical Directors and lots of former choir members, including members from our Harrogate Chamber Singers era. We were also delighted that two founder members were amongst us and we had a fantastic evening catching up with lots of friends!
The occasion was tinged with sadness as we said goodbye to our wonderful Musical Director, Alex Kyle. We have had an exciting 11 years with him at the helm and wish him well for what we know will be a bright future! But the choir goes on and as we look forward to our next 50 years we will be welcoming James Savage-Hanford as our new Musical Director from September!
